How to-Switch from RCS to Translate? Saving flights?

How do you assign switching from Stage (RCS) to translate mode? I've tried assigning a key, but no luck there. Using the mouse to click the button on the lower left while flipping around in space is cludgy, and so far for me, ineffective. Hence, since there is no way to save flights in multiples, I crashed and burned TWO space station segments that were in orbit.

Not doing too bad for day 4. Built my own space station segment, rocket assembly for it, and got it in a stable 94k orbit.

Thanks, I have a printout of that, I simply missed it. Bit of a learning Kurve here.

Check the settings in main menu. 'Input' lets you rebind the keys. Even if you don't want to rebind them, it's still good to check what input options you missed. I know I always miss a few that would have been extremely usefull to have known before

Delete for docking mode, Space to toggle between translate/rotate.

Quicksave F5. Quickload F9. All flights are autosaved (to persistant) in intervals depending on your config file (default 5 minutes I think). You play in a persistant system, you can quickload back to your previous save location or scrub a flight and redo it. The rest of the 'solar system' is persistant.

If you muck up a docking and destroy two crafts, quickload to your current craft's previous save and that quickloads to your previous persistant save as well, so both crafts are still intact.

So not quite sure what you mean by 'saving flights in multiples' as the rest are persistant.
