okay, I have a little update on the Griselbrand corvette, while I have modified the armor plating some more and the girders, I/we cannot create a sufficient ascent stage to get it to orbit and I/we cannot perform further range or weapons tests

we need someone else to produce an ascent stage and/or perform some range tests, atm, here's the link for the Griselbrand corvette

Download here

and as a little bonus, here is a download link for a single Bol-class missile with suficient ascent stage

Download here

Riki Tech might do something regarding the ascent stage. but that is most likely all I can do. Although I can promise nothing regarding when it will be finished.

i tried to have a look to the griselbrand corvette, but something's amiss with the .craft file, it looks corrupted. (when i try to load it, the rocket is turned horizontally without the cupola which is still at the right position - then the rocket's engine fire on they own, and the cupola falls to the ground.

I made the photo's with a mixture of MS paint and MS word. Mostly MS word. All you have to do is insert the picture then 'add artistic effect' just make it look however you want, then save the picture, then re import it and add another artistic effect. You just have to layer a bunch of effeects to get the picture where you want it to be.

Thanks. What would be the best way to upload phot's to a post. Just so I can start to show my ship.

I use Imgur.com Once you upload your photos to the site, the have a link that you can copy and paste into the forums. I think it's actually labled 'for forums and bloggs'. If you get any problems, let me know.

The Baracuda is a fighter carrier, it was intended to carry either 4 of Macey Dean's Mosquitos ® with additional missiles or 4 GHSA's Minnows ® with armament. Although I am unable to test this outside of the SPH due to the ship being at my part limit empty although the setup looks probable in the SPH.

It was conceptualized from a HDF Harbringer design from Macey Dean's series. In order to prevent easy direct on attacks, the hangar was moved the back of the ship and the front was significantly reinforced. One of the more noticable features is that instead of wing boards, plates were used; further increasing the damage resistance of this ship. As a final protection, the engines and fuel tank have an extra layer of plates covering them.

More information on the ship can be found here >>http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/37703-Stock-Green-Hills-Space-Agency<<

Thanks a lot. I will do this as soon as possible so look out for hints

question:If you could store frigates how many would be reasonable?

I am assuming the question is directed at me so please tell me if it is not.

Answer Route 1- The Baracuda's hangar is not specifically designed for frigates, BUT, there is a medium docking port straight in that was intended as an expansion slot. If the frigate can easily-semi easily fit through the hangar opening, 1 would be the max.

Answer Route 2- Storing frigates is a much harder thing, computer-wise. While you could simply just build a bigger boat so to speak, you have a limit to what you computer can easily take before the game becomes a slideshow. To stay within this limit, the frigate would have to be designed to be narrow on at least 1 axis and the carrier would have to be specially modified for the frigate. That's speaking if you want the frigate protected while its docked. If you didn't care about that, it would be as easy as creating 2 docking ports that could hook up with 2 ports on the frigate.

so I`m guessing the answer is 1.>teaser<

EDIT#3:

TGrIzwN.jpg

can house 2 oak class frigates with 3100m/s

-113 over parts allowed.

EDITEDIT:this is stupid it`s not very practical.

EDIT: XD And now I'm making 3k part supercarriers.

I tried so hard to put this thing into orbit but I suck at flying. Macey is obviously MUCH better, so hopefully he (or really, anyone who isn't me) could. I did run some calculations, and has 3426 m/s of Delta-V. All stock, and sorry it breaks that one rule about proof it can get where it needs to go.

Ship- Strive Class Support/Multipurpose Corvette

Company- HenryCorp Incorporated

Allegiance - Spiritwolf

Part Count- 115

Weight- 44.68

Purpose- To drop in 4 elite Spiritwolf Shock Troops, then provide support to the orbiting fleet. Once it finishes it's major purpose, it is meant to provide light weapon support with it's 6 torpedoes, and/or act as a shield for more important vessels, as it has a formidable armor structure near the core.

Craft File- http://www./download/xdwpt52ab42dg0i/Strive_Class_Support_Corvette.craft

I hope I can be of assistance in taking back Laythe!

Edit: Thanks Festivefire! Also, I added RCS to the drop pods so they can deorbit themselves.

any hints or tips for designing frigates, corvettes, dreadnoughts, battleships and carriers? i have them visually conceptualised, and given up on designing fighter/bombers atm, and just in the process of editing my combat satellite footage; so thought id ask for what people suggest? :)

Haha! My fighter works thusfar! I posted on page ten some statistics, but not all of them and some have changed. Here are the updated ones:

Name:(Unnamed)

Parts: 172 (I know, it's excessive for a fighter, but it's well armed!)

Armaments: Two basic torpedoes.

Armor class: Medium-High.

RCS capacity: 720.

Liquid Fuel capacity: 551.

Oxidizer capacity: 674.

Electric charge capacity: 50.

Engine: One LV-N.

I am unable to post pictures for now, but I will later. I have not tested it's strength yet either, but that test is yet to come!

Team: Hanland.

Company: Khaos Industries.

After some time I finally finished two ships.

The first one is named Asteria and is classified as a Battleship. It has around 350 Parts unarmed and 423 Parts armed.

And a Video showing the launch:

The Second is an Carrier for one Guided long Range anti Capital Ship missile. Around 250 Parts.

Currently I am still in for some testing.

I am also working on an Orbital weapon resupply station and a mass driver cannon(cause mass driver cannons are always fun).

A suggestion for armor classifications, for standardization, because medium-high and heavy don't mean anything whithout standardization.

class A: little to no armor, integral components are exposed

class B: Wing armor, flush with the hull

class C: Wing armor, extended from hull

class D: plate armor, flush with hull

class E: plate armor, extended from hull

the naming convention would go <bridge/cockpit [class.# of layers]> <sides/top/bottom [""]> <rear/engines[""]> <weapons/cargo bays [""]>. when multiple armor types are used, you use both letters.

ex:

fighter sometype

armor rating: A.0; B.2/A.0; A.1; A.0;

meaning: no armor for the cockpit; duel layer wing armor in some spots on the sides, none in other places (probably meaning wings on the sides, exposed tops); single layer partial armor around engines; no armor on the missiles;

Kerbin United Space Divisions present:

3q8sA

The StarMover Mk. I

3q8sU

Having read the reports of operations by Spiritwolf, we noticed that Isprits were often being used for hauling and orbital refuelling duties due to a clear lack of proper ship for the role. Noting this, and the increased tensions in the kerbol system, the kerbin united space divisions decided to begin work on an armoured utility vessel designed for refuelling and tugging items around the kerbol system. A protruding, rear facing towing port allows the vessel to remain stable when towing awkward objects and the light armour allows it to absorb some fire from smaller vessels. Additionally, it has 4 forward facing multi-purpose adapter ports that can be used for carrying extra RCS fuel, extra lquid fuel, or even standard torpedoes if such a thing becomes necessary, in which case it is enabled to act as a weapons platform. In addition, we produce a more heavily armoured B version:

3qa9A

The B is encased in much more substantial armour plating than the A version. As shown, the engines are now largely covered by light plating and there is additional protection for the all important pilot. The extra armour may prevent some modules from fitting on the forward facing multi-purpose ports however.

Weighing in at 31 tons and 62 parts, the 4 nuclear rockets give it enough power to deal with most light orbital towing jobs and the RCS system is well balanced for easy docking. It is fully capable of interplanetary flight and is expected to be able to reach any solar system body. Testing involved a trip to duna which was completed with no hitches. The launch stage deposits the ship in orbit with full fuel remaining.

Please note, the starmover is not designed for atmospheric use. It features parachutes in case the launch stage encounters explosive difficulties, but once in orbit it is not designed to land again. It is recommended that a shuttle be used to transfer crew and that the vessel be servicable by a crew-friendly ship at most times (it only has a cockpit which is less than an ideal place to sit for months on end). May contain small parts. Do not give to children under 5.

Order now and get 10% off future vehicles in the StarMover series!

(I do have a proof of orbit video, but even after compression it comes in at over 1gb which is going to take my poor internet a longish time to upload, so I will post that later - not that it's any great achievement to put that little thing into space. I will post the craft files when I have done that)

Edit: Oh, and we'll sell to anyone who's buying.

i think there will be a problem with your starmover engines when you will have to move a wide payload with it :)

The docking node sticks out behind the engines, they shouldn't obstruct anything being attached to it unless it's a very odd shape.

I have used a similar design for construction of a space station and a moon base I had.
