Stupid Industries is proud to present the Interplanetary Mapping Satellite!

LMN4JV4.jpg

This satellite is equipped with an ISA MapSat dish and a light Kethane detector to completely and accurately map the surface of any body in the Kerbol system in prevision of future exploration or for a kethane mining operation. It comes with it's personalized launch system and interplanetary tug that has enough delta V to set you on the orbit of your choice anywhere in the system. It can reach any planet, from Moho to Eeloo, counting all of Jool's moons. It also has an ion engine on board to modify it's orbit or to deorbit if needed.

The launcher can easily get the interplanetary tug carrying the satellite into a 80km circular orbit without any problem. Three pairs of Asparagus staged booster help for the thick atmospheric ascent, then the core stage can give it it's final push into orbit. The tug can then deliver the satellite wherever you want it, release the satellite then deorbit itself. The center stage also has a probe core and can also deorbit itself after placing the payload into orbit.

The whole craft weights 366.3 tons on the launchpad and has a part count of 198, which means it should run smoothly on slower computers.

Spaceport download - Mediafire download

Can be flown with MechJeb2 although it isn't included with the download. Instructions included in the attached ReadMe file.

Mods used: KW Rocketry v2.4, KSPX Stock Expansion Parts, ISA MapSat v4.0 dev build, Kethane v6.1
