So far I have:

1. Sound works!

2. Customizeable speed control via the Servo Control Window (one speed for each grouping).

Moving parts in the VAB is not worth the effort so I'm tabling that idea.

I think we can live with that, makes it a challenge. Although curious question could you not just do like the cargo bays and say with a hinge, click on it in actions group and have a pop up which starts it deployed? Or am I talking gibberish?

No you are making sense. Reason why that works is that is tied to an animation. These require actual translations of the objects in order for it to work. I'm sure it can be done but right now I don't want to do the sweat on it right now. I think the only other thing I could think of is maybe an increment field that will move to a certain spot and stop but for now I think this is a good stopping point for the plugin until the next update. :)

Sounds good to me, I'm jones ing for the release

Hello guys!

I heard you're working on new hinges and stuff? Well, as a dedicated spaceplane designer i would LOVE to see a variant that lets me build folding and/or swing-wings.

I have something like this in mind

TornadoAnimacijaKrilaStrele.gif

It must be very thin and fit the flat attachment surface of those wings. Im sure you can make me happy ;)

What about some wings that are deplorable and deploy like the stock solar panels? I know it's not realistic but just curious

Not sure about that but I do have on my todo list some low profile hinges that you could use to fold away wings in sections like you see on aircraft carriers.

Anyone like Need for Speed? (using KAS's sound for testing since its the only thing I have on this machine) Still need some tweaks for the UI to be done right but enjoy this one.

Could we possibly get that build of the .dll without waiting for the parts? I was fooling around with your free spinning washer and made a rocket/gyrocopter hybrid monstrosity that spins its way into the sky, I'm curious to try just using a servo to achieve that without strapping engines on sideways.

I now want to try a gyrocopter that isn't rocket powered, (Actually, a washer/spinning engine with rotation tied to the throttle would be pretty damn neat, especially if it didn't add any non-rotational inertia on it's own. I'd love to make a rover/catapult that could be used to fling some payload.) On that note, once we get that servo speed control, I think a launch catapult for small gliders could be build surprisingly easily.

My contribution to 101 uses for rails

NIPInSpaceRear.jpg

With only 3.8k of fuel and the capacity to carry around 58k of Kethane the centre of mass of this ship, which is already asymmetrical, changes quite considerably between near empty and fully loaded. The solution? Vary the centre of thrust by mounting the engines on rails :)

The most critical part of the build turned out to be ensuring the engines don't wobble under thrust, I now have it x4 physical warp stable (1). Varying the engine height is a manual process based on guess work, but it works very well. If only there were some way to have a part on the rail that dynamically sensed the CoM and the rail adjusted accordingly... I may look into this.

The rails themselves are quite beautiful, the detail of the dove tails - love it :)

(1) Have you seen what x4 does to engine thrust and the effect this has on the vessel? Ouch!
