Engineer-Pilot KSP game?

Not sure if there is a game section in the forums.

I just finished a bloodline Dwarf Fortress game (no, wait, I have a point) and I know there are games like that in KSP, where a player puts a core in orbit, passes the save to the next player who adds a power core, then passes it on to the third player who adds a escape pod, so on.

I was wondering if there was a engineer-pilot version of this game. In other words, first player makes a station core, with launcher, passes the ship file to the second player who pilots it into orbit, gives feedback, first player makes the next piece for it, passes the ship file to the second player who flies it up and docks it, makes feedback. They could do the same for a Mun Base, so on. Not as easy as just passing on the save and not having to worry about it ever again - but in some ways very easy depending on one's skill.

I am not a good pilot, use mechjeb, but prefer engineering myself. And I know some folks prefer wearing the scarf and flying into the deep, wide, black ocean of space!

Is there any game like that?

Sounds like something for the challenge thread. You pass the save and .crafts back and forth until you iterate all the bugs out of them.

Well, there is this idea. Basically, use a combination of DropBox and symbolic links to share the /saves directory. It's not quite multiplayer, but it makes turn-based play-by-mail type games very easy. The only down side is if two people use a file simultaneously, the second instance becomes a "conflicted copy" and basically destroyed.

edit: No need to download the tool. If you prefer, you can make symlinks from the command prompt. Run CMD as administrator, then mklink.
