A noob question for the devs.

The new update has been said to include the astronaut training complex. What I would like to know is the list of features that will be added by the complex. I know that we can choose astronauts and recruit new ones, but what would this entail exactly? Will this include astronaut training? Because I would love to develop specific astronauts' capabilities for my missions.

No one really knows, and we (probably) won't know until it's actually released. We can assume that we will be able to pick our Kerbonauts for each flight, but other than that we can only speculate.

(And I know you said message to the developers, in the title. That's just my two cents.)

It's a new building, and it changes the way kerbals are handled for flights (you can choose who goes in what module, test-fly things with only one kerbal). No training yet, but there's a big list of possible recruits, showing their personality stats (so we can recruit an army of Jebs)

and once again nova to the rescue.

to the OP

there is no such thing as a bad question except the one not asked. ask away and it will at least be attempted to be answered.

Thanks for answering, Nova!

"How many quarters are in a lacrosse game?" is an example of a bad question, so we can't quite say "there's no such thing". The OP, however, had a very reasonable question, even if it's too soon for an answer.

Why? How many quarters are there?

I'm reminded of a quote from 'South Park:' "Remember class, there are no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people."

Seriously though, out of all the games I've played and eventually joined forum discussions on, KSP has, hands down, the friendliest and most helpful community I've experienced (sure beats DayZ, that's for sure). From what I've seen so far, you'd have to act like a real ass-hat to get shunned here.

-Cut can't be used in Jool.- No training yet, but there's a big list of possible recruits, showing their personality stats (so we can recruit an army of Jebs)

Army of Jebediah Kermans? Yes, please. Then I can try to land on Jool's cloud! Muahahahaha.

Test fly things?

Hmm, that's the first I've heard about that, so a testing chamber of sorts then? Something I've seen suggested before, and something that I really want in the game.

If the ability to test things is coming in the next update, then I'll be even more pleased..

Well the only reason that I phrased it that way is because Harvester explained the purpose of the the Astronaut complex, I was just hoping that he neglected to explain it fully.

Well by that, I am sure that Nova meant that you can reduce the amount of Kerbals that you kill with each mission by simply deciding to launch with less than you are capable of launching.
