Sigh... Farewell my save, I will miss you

I have 3 Lko stations, a mun station, kethane and ep bases on the mun and Duna, and I have probes orbiting most bodies.

Save breaking.

All my missions that don't involve developing new craft have been canned, and I am concentrating on my new cargo SSTO.

An well, my old save was a turgid mass of debris, kethane and extraplanetery launchpads.

I am not sure how long you play KSP already, but if its longer than a cupple of weeks, you should know about this. Its not the first time it happened, and since KSP is still in development, it most certainly will not be the last time. So how about less whining and more excitement for a chance to start new in a even more awesome new version of KSP!

... and if you are indeed so very very sad, you still can manually change your saves to run in the new version, at least with a bit of luck, but seriously, who wants that? Just start working on even better LKO stations and mun bases, and your next interplanetary probes will be even more awesome and efficient! ... and besides all that, starting over anew gives the chance for LOTS and LOTS of new explosions!

In this thread, one fellow lamenting his beloved scrapheap of a space program, the other being slightly rude but most likely doesn't mean to be :sticktongue:

I'm going to miss the debris scattered all over the runway island it was always lolsworthy looking down on it on a new launch. Can't wait for part recovery!

More like 7 months of playing. .17 to.18 was the last to break saves. Also no you can't manually move saves.

yeah, you can, it's a text file and can be edited for compatibility (although you may break it) and there were community made converters last time

Starting again is not so bad - it gives me chance to work on things I did wrong in the current save - debris control being one of them. Right now, I am recreating old missions without using mechjeb to see how I get on :) been fun so far, and interestingly enough I seem to have been a little more fuel efficient on my own!

I just see opportunities abounding for me. Those space station modules not lined up just so, time to rebuild! Sure I have Satellites in orbit around everything, but do I have a functioning gps system around each body?? Rebuild! Try this time around going 100% reusable/recoverable equipment? Rebuild! I guess I'm just a "glass half full" kind of person.

I have all my previous versions still installed. Heck I have two installations of the current version, one with several mods and one nearly clean one for when I play with a friend. And I'll keep those versions even when next one rolls around, just for nostalgic visits to old missions.

Something to consider perhaps.
