6-way connector bugged?

Recommended Posts

I want to use the 6-way connector to hold my mobile munbase together. However, it won't attach properly to anything I use as a core part. Is this normal behaviour?

How else do I connect two Hitchhiker containers together on their side with wheels on, in a manner that also allows me to mount the whole thing sideways in a lifter?

Rotate it and you'll be able to attach it. Only one of the six points counts as the first attachment point.

Otherwise you can use the radial attachment point (BZ-52 or somesuch, a round gray plate on a low tube). You can also use cubic struts to attach docking ports or decouplers to mount stuff.

Rrrgh. Why didn't I think of just rotating it? Damn this heat.

Also, is there any way to put a parking brake on things with wheels? Stuff has a habit of rolling away whenever I take my eyes off it, at least on the mun.

To the right of your altimeter (top of your screen) the circle in paranthesis with an exclamation mark inside, clickie when you're standing still.

As long as it's lit the brakes are on. It lights up when you tap B, but you have to manually click it with your mouse to enable the parking brakes. Otherwise your brakes are turned off as soon as you release B.

Though in my experience, S is a much safer way to slow light objects in low-g. Brakes sometimes have a tendency to flip things. Tapping them repeatedly generally gets around the issue.
