How do i add camouflage to an existing texture (solved)

Recommended Posts

I have an existing texture that i would like to change to a texture with gray and black camouflage.

The existing texture has all kinds of details which i don't want to lose.

Is it doable with paint.net? How should i go about with it? With an extra layer or such?

Cheers,

I have never used paint.net, I use GIMP for my texturing needs, but I imagine its about the same.

Best way i could think of to do that is make original texture a bottom layer at 0% transparent. Make the camo texture an upper layer and make it a tiny bit transparent(maybe start at like 20% and go up slowly till it looks good), then merge the camo layer down onto the original texture.

Honestly though textures is the aspect of modding I struggle with most, so there may be a better way I am to noob to know about.
