I just bought this game in the Steam sale... No ships work for me?

I feel your pain, being forced to sit there and assist all these new players all the time, I wish I could just simply not type anything or open these new player topics or calls for help. Guess I'll just settle for being sarcastic instead.

Re topic - I cheated, I watched a few Lets Plays before slapping down the cash so I had a fair idea on a few aspects of the game before I loaded it up. I find it hilarious that some stupid publishers (Nintendo , Sega , etc) are targeting Lets Play videos when a lot of the time its these very videos that tempt others to buy the title. I bought many a title because the Lets Play looked so fun and I wanted in.

I still remember my first craft in the 0.13 demo (or whatever version that was); it was just a command pod and an engine, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fly for the longest time

To the OP, stick with it! There's a steepish learning curve but when you land on another planet it's all worthwhile

what happened to the old tutorial pop-up? there used to be a window that opened when you got to the launchpad that gave you a quick rundown of the controls until you clicked it's 'stop popping up' checkbox.

I hope the OP has solved the problem and is now enjoying the game. It took me a week to figure out that pressing T helped keep the ship straight, i was flying manualy up untill then, VERY badly.

I have not flown a ship with asas after about 3 weeks in, it's now week 30+ somthing. the inability to move while active was not good for me.

It's always key binding that get ya. I occasionally play a train simulator and after a 45 minute drive through some mountains I pulled up to a yard and dropped off a string of cars. I then proceeded to watch the cars roll away from me down the grade and out of the yard. I had not set the air brakes on the cars.

Oops.

Live and learn.

P. S. while they can chase after runaway cars on the movies and catch them and recouple, its far harder in real life. Or simulated life I guess.

Sometimes it kinda worked. After 100 orbits, then I timewarp past one...

I had the same problem. I did manage to get my first rocket of the ground using SRBs
