Any way to see what parts are on a craft?

I'm new to the game and learning what everything does and I built a craft yesterday that worked well for me and want to use it again. However, I don't remember what every piece is, and I can't seem to find some parts that I thought should be installed already. For instance, I can't find my control pod, or maybe it is stuck inside another part (like a battery) and I can't see it or get it out. I can see the major parts in the stage list on the bottom right but not every part. And when I click a part, I have no idea what it is - is there any way to tell what this ring I just pulled off my ship is? Rt-click info or something (that didn't work).

You should be able to use a ship again provided you saved it. There isn't away to find out what a part is in the editors apart from looking through the lists and checking, so be careful.

Open up the save file in ksp/saves/yourgame/ships/VAB/ with a text editor and you can see all of the parts on the ship
