How to Begin Creating a Flag?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I know what I need to create a flag: a program like Microsoft's Paint and the ability to size down the picture, but where do I begin making one? Do I find an image on the Internet and edit it from there, or do I draw what I want? I was really hoping to create something like a hockey puck and stick for the new space program I'm opening up in 0.21, but I hardly have the creative skill do something like that. ;.;

If I wasn't clear on anything, please let me know. Thank you.

You've basically answered your own question. You can do whatever you want. You can google a puck and stick image and edit it with your program of choice to your hearts desire. As long as you don't distribute a modified image I am convinced nobody would mind.

GIMP

Yes, GIMP is a nice program, but if you're still starting out, it can be VERY confusing.

If you'd like to go maybe a step lower, Paint.NET is good if you use Windows.

Also, if you're using Win7, MS Paint is actually really nice now, even though the old one would have worked just fine.

Also also, flags can't support transparency, so, uh yeah, that.

I would recommend something more advanced than MS paint because it is a little of a pain. I downloads Paint.net for free and it easily formatted the flag. You can add layers of whatever image you like. My Avatar is actually my flag.
