What future feature (confirmed or otherwise) is your biggest hope for KSP?

My biggest hope for Kerbal Space Program would definitely be more detailed planets and atmospheres. Although it's probably impossible due to technical limitations, my biggest hope would be that the game looked like Raredens incredible artworks.

A second on the list would be career mode, and after that, asteroids, an asteroid belt, and a gas giant with rings. A fourth point on the list would be more detailed IVA's. An IVA you could move around in, like in Silent Hunter 5, but in in space. :)

Almost every feature mentioned here can be implemented in a mod. But there's one that can't - 64bit process. That's the single thing I want.

Everyone wants that but noone knows how much it would actually help. The main practical advantage of 64 bits is the ability to handle more memory. But in terms of raw performances in games, in is in practice rarely spectacular.

In order of priority, my wishes would be:

- Solve physics issues (self-dislocating or self-rotating space stations, unrealistic rocket flexibility)

- Realistic atmospheric behaviour (re-entry heat, shield, simplified but believable drag model)

- Mission goals (gettings samples, use of scientific devices, search for primitive alien life...)

It's not the performance I'm concerned about. I have no issues with performance whatsoever. But right now if I put all the mods I want there, it crashed with OutOfMemory exception, so I'm forced to cherrypick parts I want, which makes updating them pain in the butt. THAT problem will be fixed by 64bit process for sure.

Most of all I'd like to see some scientific and/or economic activity in space which should give visiting other planets some more meaning than just "WOW, I did it!!!!" :)

Next thing in my list is more diverse space bodies. Asteroid belt, comets flying with big inclinations, dwarf planets, etc.

I guess for me it would be any reason to go to other planets. I've tried Kethane but I'm so bad at it. Stuff like data collection, mapping, perhaps having to discover the planet, etc. That is what I desire.

Multiplayer...

...but because we can't have nice things, here are some other ideas:

MapSat implemented - to find EEggs and nice landing spots, maybe mod it to allow for marking locations as targets

KAS implemented - skycranes, tethered EVA's and salvaging parts and tugging derelict vessels would be really nice to play with

Hooligan's Airships limited implemented - making a weather balloon, having an airship float above the surface of Duna

FireSpitter Parts limited implemented - fans props and rotors for better control and no oxygen for jets to breath,

Kerbal Parachutes - so that if we bail in atmo we can reach the ground safely

Jerry Cans and Fuel Hoses - salvaging fuel from destroyed ships' tanks and refueling our own

My biggest hope for the future of KSP is faster loading. I stopped playing after .20 came out because it takes soooo long to load. (and I used to play a modded up copy where I was used to 12.5 minute loads with .19.1)

Edit: Oh, and It's not like I hate C7's parts. They were the first mod I've ever downloaded and I liked it, but now they kinda don't fit, don't ya think?

Tweakables, as why shouldn't I be able to have a hot pink spacecraft with fluorescent blue monoprop, a d I thought of multiple good uses for tweakables.

Other than that, resources would be good for an old hand like me, but career mode shoud be fun but having to do orbiting and rendezvous for no purpose again will be refreshing but a it dull. Chances are I will sit through a campaign with a tub of ice cream, get to a reasonable level of progress then go back to sandbox.

Oh yeah, life support is also going to be amazing.

Science science science. I want to drive my rovers around other planets, mark locations of interesting things/potential landing sites/etc on a map, and bring back samples of newly discovered materials to use in the development of new parts.
