Which is another issue, if you never read this, you would never have known about it. Which means many people who buy the game can still be under the assumption all updates are free. I mentioned this a while back, but they should really put this info in the purchase section of the site.

Edit: Oh wait, Just looked they fixed this.

Life really isn't fair, and as regex says, SQUAD aren't a charity. They need to make some money and giving stuff away isn't a good business model.

They did the best they could, and the people that are johnny come lately folk aren't entitled to anything more than what they signed up for, which is exactly what they're getting.

You are right that life isn't fair, however when your a paying customer being fair matters a whole lot. Also Charity? No one said they are and fact of the matter is i payed more then those who are getting the expansions for free. So a charity is really bad way to put it.

I decided to actually put some numbers down based on prior release dates and try to calculate exactly when the final game will be finished.

79 releases * 2.4 months/ release = 189.6 months, or 15.8 years, which translates to 15 years, 9 months, 18 days.

Therefore, KSP 1.0 will be released on May 10th, 2029. (Assuming SQUAD doesn't change their development period much, or skip numbers on their way to 1.0)

I'm sorry Sof, but you were a little too optimistic with your maths...

I went back to the very first version of KSP that was available to the public. The wiki told me 0.07 was released on 24/6/11. I assumed then that 0.21 would be released in July, being ~22/7/13. If it takes 25 months to go up 0.14 incriments then it'll take another 11.75 years to get to 1.0, which come to think about it will be 2025.

So much devs working on it, they should get payed well for their awesomeness!

Also those servers won't run for free i think. I already put so much time in KSP that those 18$ i payed are almost like stealing from them... so i would have no problem to pay for expansions.
