[BUG DATA COLLECTION]: ASAS. Come in, fill out the form, let's give the devs data

Recommended Posts

[Operating System]: Windows 7 x64

[Memory]: 4GB

[ASAS Trouble (Y/N)]: Yes

[Mods installed, pre-patch]: N/A, installed fresh

[Mods installed, post-patch]: Mechjeb 2.0.8 (but the ship used for testing doesn't have it)

[Joysticks]: None

[files]: fresh install, new save, stock ship (kerbal X) with a large ASAS module added.

[Description of problem (keep it short)]: once in orbit I go on a spin, turn SAS on at a given attitude, say, cenit. Expected: ship to stop spinning and going back to cenit attitude. What happens: steering torque hardly goes over 30 or 50%, sometimes less. Ship eventually stabilizes but settles on whatever attitude it stops moving, does not return to the desired one. Tested on roll, yaw and pitch axes.

[Operating System]: Windows 8

[Memory]: 10GB

[ASAS Trouble]: Yes

[Mods installed, pre-patch]: None

[Mods installed, post-patch]: None

[Description of problem]: 1. Planes flipping under SAS when pitching up quickly (tested on Aeris 3A).

2. SAS doesn't do much about roll, especially on probes (The roll arrow doesn't even move a notch).

3. SAS isn't aggressive enough when flying asymmetrical crafts (that worked before 0.21).

[Operating System]: Windows Vista SP2

[Memory]: 3GB

[ASAS Trouble (Y/N)]: N but not played much

[Mods installed, pre-patch]: N/A, installed fresh

[Mods installed, post-patch]: None

[Joysticks]: None

[Description of problem (keep it short)] On briefly testing with the Aeris 4a and a basic mun rocket of my own design, I can't find anything in particular to complain about. There is an amount of relearning to fly with the new ASAS, but nothing crippling. I found keeping a Mun launcher on a stable gravity turn easier in 0.21.

One thing I will say - some people mention mysterious rotation of rockets. I got that in 0.20 and still do in 0.21 It's nothing that cant be corrected for, but there's no obvious cause.

Well the mysterious rotation is MUCH more significant. And Even if I hold down the Q and E keys, I dont see any RCS firing to correct as such. Who knows what the reaction wheels are doing.

Probably part clipping.

This is what always I assumed it was. Never been significant enough to warrant building a guaranteed no-clip rocket.

Not in my case, which might suggest I've just got part clipping whereas you guys have something more problematic.

[Description of problem (keep it short)]: When rolling while flying my plane, the SAS seems to lose controle of the x-axis and the plane starts nose-diving

I had a rotation that I could not cure in my main rocket without constantly fighting it in .20. The new SAS in .21 suddenly makes it not spin. At all. It's as stable as it could possibly be now.

[Memory]: Uhh... I think i have 734 GB <_>

[ASAS Trouble (Y/N)]: Yes

[Mods installed, pre-patch]: Alot

[Mods installed, post-patch]: Alot again, still had problems before any tho

[Description of problem (keep it short)]: Not Very "Still" wil not keep a heading. also is not very strong, but that is not a bug.

Maybe Stuff that used to be UN-Stable is now stable, and vice versa.

The maxiumum you can have (in 64 bits) is 192GB and (in 32 bits without mess-ups or PAE) 4GB.

Anyway, here's mine:

[Operating System] Windows 7 Ultimate x86 (32 bits)

[Memory} 3.42GB usable (4GB in total)

[ASAS Trouble] There's no ASAS anymore, only reaction wheels and SAS modules. (0.21.0) Nope

[Mods Installed, Pre-Patch] MechJeb, Modular Fuel System, Romfarer Lazor, Robotic Arm by Romfarer and Bobcat, CSS, Kerbal Crew Manifest, HyperEdit, Boat mod, etc. I think you mean the 0.21.1 patch. Nope.

[Mods Installed. Post-Patch] Not yet known.

[Old Saves Used] (Please add them as they could be the cause) None except copied and pasted 4 Kerbals from an old save.

[Description of Problem (Keep it Short)] As it turns out, the new SAS system is too smooth (it takes a while to get the rotation done).

I'll run another tests as soon as I install Unity 4.2.0.

I find it's much better. It still doesn't hold a heading perfectly, but the array of bugs it had with completely losing a heading is gone. The most flipping-out-iest SSTO I've built to date has safely made it to orbit with it. It's definitely an improvement over 0.21, and the only way it's inferior to the 0.20.2 ASAS is the failure to precisely hold a heading on imbalanced vehicles.

[Memory]: 2 Gb (System memory 64 Gb, but I just allocated 2 for the game)

[ASAS Trouble (Y/N)]: No

[Mods installed, pre-patch]: The load subassembly mod (I don't remember the name right now)

[Mods installed, post-patch]: Actions on the fly

[Description of problem (keep it short)]: None.

Windows COULD support 192GB, but INTEL only supports 32GB.

Yeah I know, hard to believe but its true.
