Some Easter eggs missing?

I had heard about the old parts at the island being gone...

but since I can now get planes to work I decided to go check out the Desert Temple. I've spent the last few hours going back and forth over the mountains it's supposed to be near in the desert and can't find it.

Anyone else tried to go there in .21? is it gone?

I am all for remembering the true heros in a space-game, but it should probably not be done within the maingame itself, but maybe rather in the credits. For reasons of scenario coherence, suspension of disbelief and immersion in general. The only ´human´ easter egg i´d not mind seeing in the (finished) maingame would be a voyager fly-by very late game, when you may have a chance to actually detect it. Cause finding it, without knowing what it is at first, bringing it to your research facility and then getting to see that famous picture and to hear some samples of the record might not be an immersion-killer but rather a goose-bump-wow-moment. As a bonus, it could give a direction to point some listening device to and if you do that, you will get to hear some internet radio from a squad-sponsoring station.

As has already been said in this thread and on others, the Armstrong memorial is still there. If you are relying on spotting sparkly pixels to locate it my experience is that they are not so sparkly now, making it more difficult to spot from low orbit.

Maybe I got the location wrong then. I landed at 0 41 15 N by 23 26 00 E, the coords of the original landing according to Wikipedia. (and only 36 metres from where the KSP wiki says it is). I took a rover and couldn't find it. Now it may be graphics settings (though I have everything set to maximum), but now I am really confused. It's been there before!

Yep, found it... it might even have been fall-back shaders ... but I found it the next crater along, 2.4km away. I'll leave it to following explorers to get there. Unfortunately, Bill's driving means my rover no longer has any solar panels, so they may be walking back to the lander... d'oh!

Confirmed. I slowly descended and landed some 300 m from it but I didn't see it sparkling from the distance like it used to.

Could you post or pm me a picture of it from orbit? I have landed at it's old location, but I just can't find it. :(

I can confirm it's clipped underground. Was able to view it while landing a rover near the area, had my viewpoint set underneath about .5km....as the rover came down, the Temple came into view from underneath, and as I rotated the camera to a more "normal" view I could see the terrain covering it up.

Noted this with the Monolith north of the KSC as well.

I'm currently looking for the Monoliths on the North and South poles of the Mun. Map Sat says they should be at the bottom of two very deep holes, but when I jet pack down there I can't find them. Maybe they are now floating. Anyone refound these yet?

South pole is all covered. Check this out:

I have more pictures but didn't want to hog up the thread. It was fun descending down the rabbit hole and eventually finding the artifact.

Are you sure that's the one at the South pole? That hole looks a lot like the one I'm currently parked next to at the North Pole. I can't see any monolith there but because it's near the pole there are parts that don't get sunlight (that thread said they hyper-edited to get sunlight there). I did once think I saw a shadow of the Monolith but I couldn't be sure it was the Monolith's shadow and not the debris from my crashed Mun Buggy that I tried to drive down to the bottom of that hole.

Mun anomaly status:

- Two of the arches are normal

- One arch is straddling the edge of a crater, so one end is normal and the other end is floating

- Monolith near the south pole is floating above a deep glitched hole (about 3km above the bottom of the hole)

- Monolith near the north pole is underground at the center of another deep glitched hole

- Other monolith is underground, and the surrounding terrain is normal

- Neil Armstrong memorial is normal

- Crashed saucer is normal

Summary: All three monoliths have issues, but everything else is pretty much fine

Yes that's the south pole anomaly. I was the one that hyperedited the mun to get more light. I have now done the same for the north pole (mun is "below" the sun now) and I have a vehicle in two deep craters but no sign of the anomaly. When I zoom out to glitch the terrain in both holes, I still cannot see it.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
