It's funny how even the last stage (were the spacecraft is at it's tiniest) is still 250 kilos. For a spacecraft that's quite small, but that's still about as heavy as a refrigerator, or a motorbike.

A munar lander I'm working on. Not enough delta-v just yet, but that's a work in progress. The other picture is the munar lander, plus the RCS tug that'll grab it and spit it in the general direction of home.

You had a point, this probe tank rockets are still quite big, even bigger than some IRL cruise missiles and IRBM's.

Anyway, try to imagine how big and heavy is simple parachute part :).
