How long is Duna's night?

Recommended Posts

I don't know for sure, but you can probably calculate it by looking at the orbital period of a geosynchronous satellite (or in the case of Duna, Ike's orbital per.), and it should tell you the total rotational time of the planet. From there divide in half to get the time of the day/night(be aware that this value will be in the same value as the orbital period, if the o.p. is measured in hours, the rot time will be in hours).

According to the wiki, Duna's rotation period is 18 hours 12 minutes. So a night would be 9 hours 6 minutes long.

Night is actually going to be a little longer, because of Duna's orbit around the sun. (Kerbin's solar day is 6 hours and 50 seconds, for example.) But power usually doesn't cut that close.
