Can Kerbals manually extend solar arrays?

So this was the second probe I sent to space. It was supossed to be fully powered by 2 giant solar arrays so I didn't put any other batteries on it. When I finally entered the orbit and tried to extend them... it turned out I needed energy to do that . I read somewhere that you can extend them manually when a kerbal is there. I have no other choice than this, so is it possible?

yes it is possible to extend solar pannels via EVA with a Kerbal, so if you are able to get a kerbal to your probe you should be able to fix the problem and save your probe. But just as a little sidenote: you should allways put bateries on your probes (they sun is not allways there to support you )
