Has anybody else noticed this?

when i load KSP from the Steam menu, i usually alt-tab out to do other things while i wait for it to load, now with the steam version i can go back in a minute or 2 and its not really moved a whole lot along the load bar, but if i load from a backup/test copy of ksp it loads like SUPER fast even alt-tabbed out just wondering if anyone else has noticed this

Is your backup copy an earlier version?

If your main copy has mods, tha makes it load slower.

I have had major loading issues lately, both on steam and a backup copy, one of which is a clean install with no mods. Not only does the loading time inexplicably increase exponentially, especially with mods, but when it is finally finished, some part models and UI elements become corrupt even though the game itself runs fine. It may be due to tabbing out during loading or previously quitting the game by pressing alt+f4. Once this happens, the only fix seems to be to reboot the PC, restarting the game alone does not help. It has been happening a lot on 0.21 and 0.21.1, but if I recall correctly, it may have happened in 0.19 also.

Mods increase the load time, but I've found that no matter which version I use, KSP won't load at all if you alt tab out of it.

Once its loaded, alt tabbing isn't an issue.

I don't run KSP in full screen so i don't use alt-tab to switch and I don't get the issue. It isn't related to switching windows, it's something to do specifically with the alt-tab mechanics.

Try alt enter. Alt tabbing has been known to create some issues

I noticed that, I'm using full-screened Store 0.21.1, a background loading is slower than foreground.
