Pile of Fuel Tanks MkII ...

ouch

Recommended Posts

So version 1 found in this thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/42957-The-demo-built-ships-that-convinced-me-to-buy-the-game made me wonder if the same thing was possible using the largest orange tanks in the game... And the answer was a resounding... "Yep" lol

Like the original it's completely symmetrical and flies strait. Except instead of around 400 parts this one uses 2172 parts... Yep it will really tank your frame rate.

It also features no rocket stages and relies solely on 37 Rockomax brand Mainsail engines to get the entire pile of 137 Rockomax Jumbo-64 sized fuel tanks strait into space without any orbital velocity nonsense. :)

You can download it here:

Pile of Fuel Tanks Mk2 is brought to you by:

Rockomax, "Getting your piles of stuff into space since 0.16".

and by Kerlington, "Because sometimes you just have to strut your stuff!"

That... is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Put docking ports on all the exposed tank ends, and post it as a challenge on the challenge thread.

"How many ships can you dock to this giant ball of tanks?"

Such beauty! I can imagine this ship would make my rig play KSP at 1 FPS, or just crash the game all together though; so no test flight for me. Pretty cool design though. I'm very surprised you got it to go into space.
