So I landed on the Mun today.

I started a similar thread when I first managed a successful landing on Mun, and even though I've been playing a few months now, I still love going back there. Only yesterday I was flying missions to the southern region trying to find the crashed saucer, so that I could plant a flag there to make it easier to find for future visits.

Ahh yes, I remember when I first landed on the Mun in the demo. After what seemed like countless tries, I finally landed on the Mun. I was quite proud of myself. So I bought the game, and I landed on Minmus, then Duna, then Laythe, and then I built a base on the Mun. And I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen to you Baconluver25! Good luck in the future, and hopefully no Kerbal lives are lost in the process!

Congrats! That last few meters to the surface on your first landing is tense. My first landing ended up stranding Jeb. Came in a bit hot and broke 2 landing legs. The first rescue mission didn't go well, and neither did the second. I don't remember how many missions it took to get everyone back, but I eventually did it.

Eh, it doesn't get much attention, though. Believe me--I know...

thats not an excuse. by that logic every thing and any thing from mod development, to suggestions, to bug reports, to craft showcases/downloads should all go in general discussion in order to get more publicity

Gz on your first Mun landing! Duna next I guess?

Actually I'm planning to goto Minmus next, then maybe Duna.

Sounds fantabulous.:D The landing on this mission was a bit rough, I smacked into the ground harder than I would have wanted to.

Well done! Now get him home safe!

Don't worry, he got to reunite with his family. :)

Easier to land on, harder to get to. :P

In the end it's about the same total dV as the Mun to land on (difference in transfer is made up by difference in slowing down and landing) and MUCH easier to get back from (higher orbit around Kerbin + lower gravity = Easy return with aerobraking and a parachute or two).

You could always make the 'landing' part free...if you're brave enough. ;)
