Help software

Hi guys, i'm guest91111 and I'm a programmer/video maker

I make software to help other people, like calculators and other stuff like that.

On this page, I'll put Software, which I've created.

I only produce the software! Not the names used in the software. Those are made by squad developers/mod makers.

List of software avalible:

* ÃŽâ€v CalculatoÑ <build: 4>

ÃŽâ€v CalculatoÑÂ:

More is coming in the future. You can give suggestions! :)

Also pictures are coming! I'm having problems with putting them here! That's why I give links to twitter pictures!

Maybe you can add some screenshots and descriptions. I get what the ÃŽâ€v Calculator is for, but it would be nice to see some description, list of features and a couple of screenshots to see what the program looks like and what it's capable of doing...

I'm working on it, I'm also going to make a video of it!

Hey guest91111, while it's nice of you to take time to make tools to help others, your distribution method is lacking; hardly anyone wants to download and run random executable files from the Internet, and with good reason:

- the source is not viewable, so that .exe could be doing virtually anything, like installing malware.

- no description or screenshots, the only way to find out if you want it, is to download and run it.

- not cross-platform: leaves out Mac, Linux and mobile users.

Your approach demands too much trust from the user, and takes too much time and effort to even sample your program. These kinds of utility tools are better suited to web apps, where anyone with any OS, can just click one link to sample it, without much risk of malware, and if the program doesn't live up to their expectations, they just close the browser tab.

If you haven't learned Javascript yet, I highly recommend it, it will be a breeze if you already know C++ or C# and will allow you to distribute these tools as much more user-friendly web apps.

1. I'm working on screenshots, but it doesn't want to work

2. I regret that people even use Mac computers, so I'm not even thinking about making it avalible for mac. Linux isn't even used so much in my country, and I really never have used it. Mobile development is far too hard for me, because for Android I need Java, which is too hard for me to understand, for Windows phone it's maybe possible, for iPhone and iPad I just can't because I need a mac

3. I develop apps for people with terrible/unreliable internet connection, so if they have a chance to download it, they don't have to use internet, but have it one their own computer. So I'm not really planning on developing things for internet.

That's called "missing the point" entirely, and certainly doesn't help people to trust that it's actually what it claims to be.

After all, malware is most prevalent on Windows for a reason...

Alienating users just because they don't use the same OS as you is petty, childish and self-defeating. Macs are just another brand of PC and Linux has more users than you think, especially in the KSP community. You don't need Java for Android or a mac for iOS, because a web app will run on all these platforms, like Olex' interplanetary calculator for instance. Web apps can also run without an Internet connection after being downloaded.

It's not 1995 anymore, Mac and Linux use is rising, mobile web users already outnumber desktop users and the most popular OS is a Linux one (Android), any programmer who can't adapt to this evolving landscape will just be left in the dust...

Eh, it's pretty late to the game anyway (so to speak).

I also agree that it's very bad form to publicly slam an entire segment of users simply because you don't like their platform of choice, and then to turn around and claim that Java is "too hard". Really? It's so "hard" that it's the very first language taught in programming classes.

There's nothing wrong with not knowing how to code for other platforms or languages, but the OP reads like he feels it's necessary to make excuses for his own limitations by discounting or outright insulting them anyway.

Not only that, but I find it hard to believe that there are that many people out there with internet connections so terrible that they can't rely on them to work for a couple of seconds to load simple pages like this or this (which will still work even after being disconnected), but can download all 434MB of Kerbal Space Program from the KSP Store, or from Steam.
