700!

The challenge here is to basically make the SR-71 Blackbird in ksp.

The rules are:

you have to make a PLANE NOT ROCKET!!!!

It can use the rocket engines, but it has to take off like a plane.

Landing is not required (plus, who needs to land anyway?:confused:)

Normal mode is getting to 700 m/s within 5 minutes from takeoff, cheats are allowed.

hard mode is getting to 700 m/s within 1 minute from takeoff, no cheats.

And it has to be stock parts only.

Post a screenshot of your plane at max speed, and tell me the time you started, and when you get to 700 m/s.

I reached 800 in 27 seconds and still 0.5 seconds of mega accelleration available! see delta v :) I ended up close to 900, but timing the screenshot is difficult :)

It flies very stable and can even land back. But don't expect much range though ;)

If you stick multiple of these solid rockets together to divide the weight of the wings, you can go even faster...

well i thought the hard mode would be hard and after messing around with sled designs and falling alot i moved onto The 700

i met the challenge in 51 seconds and then kept going to the full minute but i began to flat spin at 59 seconds bloody flame out
