How to invert Docking Ports and Lights?

I am trying to build Space Stations (to practice/perfect docking). I noticed when I build rockets I can only attach docking ports facing upwards or sidewards (with symmetry). Same for lights, but those I can only attach downwards facing.

Is there a way to attach these parts in the opposite direction?

Stock parts if that matters.

You can use wasdqe to turn parts around in the VAB, and shift+wasdqe for placing them in 5 degrees increments
