Apollo style Lunar ascent stages

How do you do them? I just started doing them using the new fuel tank that carries 45 liters and the new linear orange engine. I have a video of testing it on Minmus rendering right now and ill post it ASAP. But I would like to know how you did and or do them now because This is my first one and I haven't seen many.

Here's mine:

Small central engine. Radially attached fuel tanks with fuel lines to engine.

Pretty cool! Mine uses a one man pod because I didn't really know how I could make it resemble the Apollo ones with a two man so the orbiter has two people and the lander has one.

It's all stock - but it's very parts-intensive. And kind of bigger than it ought to be.

That's the smallest two man ascent I have ever seen. Is there a 6 way cube connector in the middle of the 45 tanks? I currently want to test some for Duna for future meddling there.

I use LV-909 engines in both the upper and lower stages. Requires some clipping.

My original 2-stage lander used an all-RCS powered ascent module with just the single-kerb lander can. (Sorry - don't have any photos of that online I can easilly link to.) My Apollo-44th lander, while less Apollo than Brotoro's, was conventional bi-propellent using the 4 radial motors and a mess of partially-clipped tanks on the roof. Shaky weird-physics stuff.

I no longer use either design, and have moved to a reusable single-stage lander. I was typically using the single-kerbal landers twice per trip anyway.

The proportions are off, but the concept is there.

Stock parts with the exception of the fairings. If I'd been paying attention I would have mounted them on the lower decoupler so they stayed on.

I'm getting lots of good inspiration for lander design. The Eagle has always been one of my favorite spacecraft and it's inspiring to me. So seeing all the ways people have approached it helps me to build one that's uniquely mine. Thanks!

Wow, some really great designs in this thread! Here's mine from the Munshine V:

The new 48-7S inline engine is great for ascent stages. It takes a little while to make orbit but it does offer some really fine control and it works well with the new SAS.

I completely agree with the new engine being perfect. I always used one stage landers because of how the LV-909 had way too much thrust for operations on Minmus and still a bit too much for the mun the stage was really thick too because of the thickness for the 90L fuel tank. The new tank and engine together are perfect!
