Kerbalized Rockets

One of the closest Saturn V replicas I\'ve seen (the nearest was by foamyesque). Well done. :)

Adding 2 more to the collection also.

Angara-7 (The largest of the Angara rocket family)

This one is insanely powerful, yet very stable. Thanks to the struts that are fastening each of the strap-on boosters. Liftoff is somewhat slow because of its weight.

It\'s so powerful by Kerbin standards, that it\'s capable of SSTO.

BONUS Screenshot: Got bored, and decided to go open the PLF shroud too early. This is what happened:

:D

Rus-M (Variant 1)

OFNbz.jpg

Abit wobbly on the first stage, due to thrust vectoring.

Foamy\'s Saturn V was made using a lot of dedicated parts, most were specifically modified. My version uses only 'Generic' mods, mostly KW and NovaPunch.

Here\'s another replica, the Proton. Made almost exclusively from KW and NovaPunch parts, with Kosmos TKS as the payload (minus the solar panels, which didn\'t fit inside the fairing).

Since it has a TKS as a payload, it doesn\'t have a 4th stage like the satellite launch variant. It can be added without problems though (it fits inside the payload fairing).

I need to figure out which mods I used for Saturn V, which might take a while.

For the Proton, I\'m attaching it here.

You need KW Challenger (PLFs and the main pack), NovaPunch and Kosmos packs.

It\'s still WIP, so it might change a lot. Oh, and while we\'re at it, any detailed specification of a Proton would be appreciated (things like retro and ullage boosters, etc.).

Oh yea. Nearly forgot that. He modified some parts to match Earth\'s specifications. Also, I\'ve seen a few Protons here actually, almost all were dead accurate :D

As I promised in this thread, here\'s my take on Falcon XX:

nZEKh.jpg

Flies decently, and pretty much stable. The '13 engines' on the first stage is the result of me superimposing OP\'s image with the one I\'ve saw. (there may be a little mistake here...) I could\'ve used this one to make it much more closer, but there\'s some problems.

agtKn.png

The 'outer 6' provides some maneuverability, and the 'inner 7' makes the majority of thrust.

tVSh9.png

It\'s capable of SSTO, but the first stage is too powerful for orbital corrections.

lUPN9.png

what about all of the rockets in this post

It depends on the poster whether if they\'ll post it or not.

Has anyone managed to hit a sattelite in orbit with a missle i wanna be the first

No idea.

Neither I have plans to do such thing. :D

Actually, the only other Proton in this thread has weird short engines and IMHO, doesn\'t look as good. Mine looks and flies quite well, especially after you jettison the first stage.

I remember messing up my replica by slapping 2 more strap-ons. :D

  • 1 month later...

Thanks. It\'s surprisingly simple, yet works really well. The only problem is that it can escape Kerbin\'s gravity (I don\'t think the real Titan GLV was capable of going into solar orbit).

My take on the Energia. Still working on making it attach payloads like the real one.

1.75m decoupler flange... Was that from NovaPunch?

I\'ve been waiting for that thing! Looks like Tiberion granted my request already :D

Energia-Polyus. Now more massive than before :D

This one took me around ~30 mins, mainly putting the strap-ons in place manually and making sure they\'re level with each other. BDaVc.png

HUGS!

Good to see ya back, bud.

Also,

WHERE IN THE NAME OF JEB IS THAT ANTHEM!?

Sorry buddy, I\'m out of the RP already. Ciao!

Time to kerbalized the superheavy launch rocket: The Ares V.

Without using specific parts, and still looks as a Energia-Polyus. EPIC!

Because it IS an Energia-Polyus :D

1.75m Decoupler Flange definitely gave way to kerbalizing much more rockets. Here\'s an improved Ariane 5:

That one has a Lunar Lander on-board, and I\'m using it for some missions.

My shot on the Ares V, but I think it looks more like an SLS-ELC, just a few modifications away :D

Tried to give Convair Nexus a shot. I\'ve ended up with this thing:

This one isn\'t SSTO yet, I\'m trying to find a way.

I\'ve also recently made an Energia-Polyus, but I\'m still looking for a good counterweight (the one I use it rather ugly). You wouldn\'t believe it, but it\'s actually a dream to fly. I\'m soon going to try to use the same design, but with Tiberion\'s Buran instead.

Good amount of gimbals, and right-powered engines, otherwise it\'ll tip over. Few cfg tweaks might work as well. :D

I don\'t like tweaking CFGs, and it does have a lot of gimbaling. Also, I used realistic engines (ones from the Russian Engines pack).

I\'ll check if the counterweight really is necessary, but even if it isn\'t, it improves handling a lot.

  • 4 weeks later...

I recreated a connected Soyuz-Salyut craft.

The pod was the Soyuz mod with Salyut recreated from Kosmos\' space station parts on top of it.

The whole thing was connected to its fairing , which was almost 10m high, to keep it from wobbling (too much) :P
