I really liked it, it certainly does have that "back in the old days" feel, i too imagined the narrator to have a sort of 50's style news voice.

Please help me, if you have any idea regarding:

I don't know how can I make the research for the challenge fun.

My idea is that I would use the VAB. I mean after you post the pictures, that you did the challenge and it's legit, i would post a fresh mod folder which contains the parts for examination purposes.

(example: Biological contamination. The object has a differently textured version, apart from the normal one. The strangely textured one corresponds to an image generated by a test machine which detects i don't know maybe chlorophyll on the surface. It's a weak example but gives you a general idea of what i mean.)

My problems with this:

-too rigid: You cant invent new tests... or procedures

-too little direct information: Yes you've seen the picture of a thing via spectograph in the VAB, but you dont necessarily know every element's wave pattern... I want to add a little handholding to the whole research thing.

Why is research so crucial?

This is the only player activity which can link up the challange with the story.

It's an "easter egg", but also more than an idle obelisk.

Example:

You did the mission. You did the research.

Now the next mission is finding the russians before they can take off. (time limit race to a coordinate. Be it rocketry, or aeronautics with this challange, your motivation is not to defeat others, but curiosity).
