My greatest failed launch so far!

Whilst attempting to create my first fully reusable shuttle I managed to perform a pretty spectacular crash leaving my main engine behind and everything else blowing up very shortly after leaving the ground. Only one other part of the shuttle survived miraculously. And yes, Jeb was of course the pilot of the incident.

I wish I had the spare processing power to record as the whole event was quite a fun sight, however I have one remaining picture that feels pretty relevant to the Kerbal way of doing things.

Found out the huge boosters of the Nova Punch need lots of struts to stay connected to the couplers. Shortly after launch, the huge Awkward Atlas lost a booster and promptly fell apart. Unfortunately, the capsule lost its parachute and crashed resulting in the untimely death of its three Kerbal astronauts.

After placing a set of heavy duty struts in strategic locations, the rocket flew as expected staging the boosters at 14,000 meters. Having a second SAS in that stage causes a power drain during coasting to apogee so solar panels have to be deployed during that phase of the launch. The second stage reached orbit with sufficient fuel remaining to reach Mun with the command module stage. That Kerbal crew is currently planning their burn for Mun.
