How to simulate the Eve atmosphare?

Recommended Posts

Any mod for this?

Having sending 2 craft that never able to achieve the Eve orbit. I'm looking for a test ground before sending my ship.

I'm not using any MechJeb, and not using any mod, and I'm ready for them now. Just to test if my craft able to lift-off Eve.

It is best that I can change the Kerbin gravity and atmosphere to match Eve.

Then I will save a-lot-of-time just to bring my craft to Eve for lifting test.

Try HyperEdit to change Kerbin's physical properties. Barring that, use MechJeb's delta-V calculator to figure it out (from what I understand, it takes approximately 11 km/s of dV to achieve Eve orbit from ground level).

Thanks. And please provide HyperEdit link and how to install/use it? The more detail the better. including how to change Kerbin's physical properties.

It's pretty easy to use. Hit Alt-H to bring up the GUI, then push the buttons for what you want to do.

I used it recently to test airplane designs for Duna. I built the plane, stuck a small rocket on the back to deorbit it, got it on the pad, then told it to be in a 50km orbit at Duna. Poof, there it was. That way, I could test re-entry characteristics, transitioning from that into powered flight, and then landing. And if it survived, then taking off again and flying around, assuming it was capable. So, now I know I have a Duna airplane that works, so all I have to do is put a real rocket under it and get it there :)
