My first successful Space shuttle!

Recommended Posts

This is a series of pictures of an entirely stock space shuttle I made (that worked finally.) This was much Harder than I thought it would be, and takes using action groups and staging at just the right time. But it looks and flies like a real shuttle. The Orbiter is what I was most proud of, it didn't flat spin when reentering and landed flawlessly. The biggest difference is that I have liquid boosters instead of solid boosters because the biggest solids are just too small (even though the look the part :P ) I also added some front elevators as well just to prevent flat-spinning. (previous design went boom.)

Orbiting and landing

This ended up being much more complicated than anticipated, especially for a stock craft. I feel proud of it, even though it carries no payload due to no doors, just liquid fuel tanks. Let me Know what you think :)

I definitely will, I just wanted to make one entirely stock to see if it could be done. This things really hard to fly, so I will probably get a mod for more aggressive engine gimbals, so I can adjust the center of thrust to always be under the center of mass. ATM it requires carefully triggered action groups and maneuvering.
