NO MECHJE

Version 2 is here... Eve Mk2 (Sea Level Lifter) All in 1 craft.

I'll call it modules (not craft) because eventually you will leave it and not taking it home to Kerbin with you.

The craft only have 3340 fuels, 60.87 ton and NOT without limitation.

For lifting to lower Eve orbit 90,000m.

If you are landed on:- (Eve solid surface above sea level)

2000m = 100% success rate.

1500m = 95% success rate.

1261m = 80% success rate.

below 1261m = 10% success rate. (Need to leave seat and perform space walk to thrust yourself to Eve orbit)

Assent till 40,000m, turn 45°, stop at 90,000m sail until 5 sec. Perform orbit.

Note1: The craft will turn unstable when the 3 Aerospike engines nearly fuel out. Just make sure you are pointing upward.

Note2: For performing the space walk, just press the 'Shift' to go upward, + 'W' till you see the velocity number slow down press the 'S' to bring the velocity back, and repeat 'W','S','W','S' to make yourself to target 3220m/s.

Note3: The landing gear are build to withstand the uneven ground of Eve, use the number 2,3,4 to turn up/down for your landing gear. It can land up to 30°. (Try it out at Kerbin before using it at Eve)

Note4: Press 1 for the ladder.

Transportation to Eve are NOT provided.

(Basically you will just need to have about 1440 fuel to goto Eve, and 1440 fuel to go back Kerbin with the 4~8 Atomic LV-N Engines)

#My primary language are not English. If you see something funny about my writing, please let me know to correct it.

Image and craft files will be upload just a moment.

Download here ->Craft file

Operating instruction:-

(For landing)

Landing gear down ready.

Chute deploy once your "G" force meter NOT near the Red zone. (Somewhere in the middle).

Landing chute deploy ONLY when your 1st set of chute "fully opened".

Heh, don't take the fact that I use MechJeb on everything out of habit and laziness to imply I think you should use it if you don't want to. A minority of players care about whether or not you use it, they're just a vocal minority. Designing a rocket that is capable of getting off Eve is much more challenging than piloting that rocket to do so. When I build something that couldn't be flown manually, I usually make it a point to say so.

I will use MechJeb...but not at the moment.

Because I'm still learning how to fly, and from the process of learning how to fly, I've learn other things.

An excellent pilot, they use autopilot, but they don't use-too-much autopilot.

Have you ever try precision landing 5+5 Kerbal on Mun with just 2 launch? I did that with Version 0.18.3 DEMO

I challenge you, without MechJeb. Show me that you know how to fly.:)

Little busy for that right now. Here's the last no-MechJeb challenge I participated in, that I can remember anyway: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/33974-We-are-not-losing-those-kerbals%21?p=426046&viewfull=1#post426046

I personally think design and mission planning is more entertaining than following the little yellow circle, but to each his own.

Think I will take the challenge in a short while. But now I'm just try to fix my "wobbling" craft... which still at the launch pad, not even start the engine yet.

Do you have any advice? To stop the wobbling.

I was wondering about that too. But I think in this case you just want to go strait up and get out of the soup as fast as possible where your rockets are more efficient, rather than linger (this is a Job for Calculus!). If there were some equivalent efficient Jet engine that would work in Eve's atmosphere that would be a different story.

Yeah, lifting from eve is pretty ridiculous. Have you considered using spaceplanes? The thick atmosphere will generate more lift than kerbin's, so wings may help.

It's possible (see http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/11214-The-K-Prize-100-reusable-spaceplane-to-orbit-and-back?p=576873&viewfull=1#post576873), but far more difficult than making a rocket. Drag is so terrible on Eve that the only direction you want to be heading until about 25 km is straight up.

"littlebattler", I will have to agree with "tavert" and "Exothermos". Wings at Eve are not very efficient except you get the JetEngine that run without Oxygent.

My 1st mission to Eve bringing 2 set of JetEngine module, end up ejecting them.

Well, Me too. Landing on atmospheric bodies with 6400m high? Only MechJeb can do that.

If you use mechjeb landing autopilot to show predictions you can land almost as accurate and using far less fuel on places with atmosphere. Mechjeb burns to hard to deorbit while you only have to bring Pe down to 50-60 km to land on Eve.

This is also very useful on an Kerbin landing then almost out of fuel.

I did mine, now is your turn to show me how you send 5x5 Kerbals to Mun with just 2 launch...and using DEMO version!!!!
