Munar Orbit Rendezvous Time Trial

Here\'s the challenge of all challenges, the one that will test all of the Kerbal courage you\'ve got.

Overview:

1) You\'ll strap yourselves in to the fastest Munar rocket you\'ve got, fly to the mun, drop your payload in Munar orbit. (satellite, empty booster, space station, or even Jeb himself, it doesn\'t matter, just drop a payload you\'ll be able to find later)

2) You hurry on down to the surface and land your pretty little lander gently.

3) You let your payload complete its orbit, and you put the petal to the metal and haul green ass to meet it up there.

4) (The tricky part!) Rendezvous with your payload and 'dock' with it. Or touch it. Or smash it out of the damn sky, doesn\'t particularly matter, just make sure you take a screen

5) Turn tail and return to Kerbin for your victory party, fastest round trip wins the cake.

Impossible? No. (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=4211.0)

Challenging? Exactly.

No, cheat parts, everything else goes. Flares help, bonus points for none.

Be sure to include pics of the drop, rendezvous, and end time.

If you need help or tips, ask. Good luck and God speed.

(This should be massively less time consuming now that we can warp time on the surface)

How do you guys go about calculating your re-launch from the mun towards the rendezvous location? You\'re in munar parking orbit, jot down your orbital data, de-couple, descend, land.. so far, so good. But then what? I\'m at a loss there.

I can only make rough guesses at my lander/return module\'s delta-v, and even then the only way I can think of is to do a direct ascent to orbit altitude and then burn at an angle in order to keep my altitude and gain the necessary lateral velocity at the same time..

Haha, as far as an actual equation or any sort of mathematical way, I\'m at a loss. I just established my parking orbit very low to minimize the burn time, and made some roughly educated guesses. With the flare, rough was enough. Although without it, from what I\'ve been trying, I can\'t get close enough to pick it out.

Anyone got a flare mod? I\'d be willing to give this a shot.
The one I\'ve been using can be found here:
