Shenzhou-8 and Long March 2F

Recommended Posts

Soyuz replicas are incredibly popular, but what about the similar design employed by the Chinese? Wonder no more. I present to you a working replica of the Shenzhou-8!

Comes with detachable Long March 2F. Hmm, I think I see why they called it that.

The launch profile is standard; turn very slightly at 8000 meters, then to the 45 degree mark at 10000.

After separating the boosters, wait until your apoapsis reaches around 85 kilometers, then cut thrust. There are other ways of doing it, but this one has been tested reliably.

Burn somewhere around T-15 to T-10.

The central booster runs out of fuel before the orbit is completed. Do not panic. The Poodle engine is sufficient to complete the burn.

Now that you're in orbit, deploy the solar panels, and that's it!

Or not, because you still need to get back to Kerbin. Point the ship retrograde and... actually, everything's pretty standard from this point on.

Comes with the best heatshield ever.

The parachutes deploy. (No duh.)

And the return capsule touches down (and the battery falls off).
