Hyperedit

Recommended Posts

I'm building a big space station and I wanna edit it into orbit in one go (don't ask me why). Is it possible to edit a vessel into orbit around kerbin directly from the VAB using Hyperedit? And if so, could someone give me a step by step discription of how to accomplish that? It would be greatly appreciated.

In theory it should take nothing more than launch it to the pad(without stabilizers, if possible), hit alt+h for hyperedit, choose orbit editor, enter wanted altitude and click "Set". If it crashes everything, try adding something to sen the base flying, even for a short moment, for it to not be counted as "landed". Worked for mine test flights that way on 0.21.1.

Edit: looks like I've been to slow... By the way I had no idea the clamps automatically detached, good to know.

But you can press Esc or F3 before the physics kick in, then use HyperEdit to edit the orbit, then let physics kick in for real.

The way my computer lags really bad with KSP, making it impossible to edit the orbit before the physics kicks in. I've found you can open the Hyperedit window in just about ANY KSP screen, INCLUDING the VAB/SPH, and pre-edit your orbit before hitting the "Launch" button...Then when the launching screen is loading, and waiting for the physics, just click the "Land" button till you end up in orbit...
