Saved Rockets_Available to new game start like default samples in the VAB LOAD menu?

Recommended Posts

So the fleet I have started, with many refinements to the models, took hours to figure out and lots of trial and error making changes that work. Once saved in the VAB "load" menu, are these available to new game starts such as the default samples are?

Probably just have to rebuild them from scratch to do that I imagine? Or just keep playing through the current game / career. Since I lost my best space station module (It is in orbit however) I could do a fresh game start and go from there, or, build a rocket just for a tug, go back up and couple the tug to the station if that will give me custom key functions back from the tug command module.

If you have to, you can just copy the .craft files, and save them into the appropriate subfolder in the "Saves" folder....Its a good idea to backup your craft files anyway...I save them to a backup folder OUTSIDE the KSP_win/ folder, in case my installation gets messed up, or corrupted from all the mods I'm running.

If you move the craft files out of the SAVES folder and move them up a level into the core SHIPS folder, it makes them "Default" craft files and are availible across all your save games. Those that are within the save folders are only availible within that save.

I have 3 crafts that I love so much that I want them to be availible to me, even though I use different saves for different objectives.

Thank you so much, that worked...

You have spared countless Kerbin lives by allowing me to concentrate on a good, sound space program (Including the ships I already have in inventory, each one tweaked to best use limits so far.) rather than worry whether I'll ever see the fruits of all previous VAB work (?) again.
