33.1km Emergency Rescue on Jeb's Burger!

Jeb order a set of "Super K Burger®" for two. And the delivery boy send it to the wrong place. At the south island airport of KSC (Kerbal Space Center).

Now, Jeb has to rush there to get his burger. The problem is, the burger will only be good to eat in under 3 minutes.

So, here is the challenge, rush to the south island airport of KSC (which is 33.1km away). In under 3 minutes.

The fastest to get there are the winner.

The winner board:-

-jjwb22101 with his (Ravenspear Mk4) 2 Min 18 second And earn ✪✪✪✪.

-MarkoeZwith his (islandrunner2) 2 min. 26 sec. and earn a ✪.

-telfari with his (Burger Rocket 3) 2 min. 39 sec. and earn a ✪.

-GraviTykillz with his (ISLAND RACER) 2 min. 47 Sec. and earn a✪.

Rules:-

1) No mod. 100% stock.

2) Jeb must be on board and safely land on the airport. (Jeb is no more due to MIS or LIA or stranded somewhere else it is acceptable to use other crew member).

3) No return needed. Parachute allow. Craft condition ignore. (I don't care if it destroy).

4) .Craft file must be present and at lease 1 screen shot with Jeb safely on the airport with the top left corner MET time lesser than 3 minutes.

Bonus:- (Get a "Star" ✪ on each bonus achieve).

Tips:-

In order to get there under 3 minutes, you will need to travel about 230m/s (minimum). It is 33.1km away and on an island!. About 119 degree.

DID IT! And this was with the stock Aeris 3A no less, so there's no real need for a .craft file.

Currently trying to do it with the Ravenspear Mk. 4, but the results so far have been many explosions upon landing.

EDIT: Got the ravenspear down without it exploding, and i also think i set a new time record, 2:18.

"jjwb22101" 2 Min 42 seconds with Aeris 3A. And earn 2 *, the other 2 * pending for proof.

I don't think you can stop at 97.3m/s with the runway already near the end. So, un-damage *, return * will be retain until you provide further proof.

However I did fly the Aeris 3A, although fly about 195m/s and the time to reach there is about the same 2min42sec so it is official doable. (It just how good on you to landing a plane.)

"jjwb22101" (Ravenspear Mk4) is absolutely doable, 2min 18sec, the margin is tight and the landing is challenging, I've tested a few times and although I'm not able to land it in 1 piece, but with much practice I believe I can do that too. The short take off from the south airport island is doable too with Ravenspear Mk4, the craft itself do not need much runway, It can just fly off the cliff pick up it speed, and heading back to KSC...

And i think one star for no jet engines, most of the rest disintegrated when the parachutes deployed

I had to have a quick go at this, I've been there and back in 3:46 for the Pizza challenge a few months back but not in a stock craft. I got Jeb and Bill, at night, safe landing no damage, able to return to KSC, no parachute and no rocket for six stars I think and it was stationary on the dirt runway at 2:04. Could be first place

Time is between 2'16 and 2'20.

There is nothing fancy about the plane. I made one that is easy enough to land, given the short runway with a tower almost in the middle...

The plane made it to the burger in one piece, and I even had room enough to take off again for the return flight. Landing required a bit of practice, but was easier than expected.

I think I may have set the FAR record. 1:47 with a single-rocket plane which self-destructs in order to land.

In order to save time and fuel, it uses a rocket-sled/car underneath and fires all of its engines, the car has some fuel which is set asparagus-staged to the main vehicle.

After escaping the runway, it flies to 5 km high and then dives back down once it is approaching the runway, upon getting within a couple hundred meters, the engine is killed and it flies within feet, finally, 3 parachutes are deployed, 10 separatrons activate in a retrograde direction on the main vehicle, and the cockpit makes a near-instant landing in under 1:50 from when it decoupled from its sled/took off.

In this case, the parachutes got 'sploded last-second, but the cockpit still landed intact at 20 m/s.

Intimidating, isn't it!

This is a bad place to be when it starts:

ROCKETS! ACTIVATE!

Surprisingly stable driving, certainly more stable than a rover at comparable speeds.

Dropping the booster/sled! about 1 second later it made a very satisfying kaboom and I saw the blast flash/wave. Look at the bottom to see a wheel of the booster!
