[Piano Solo] Orbital Tango in v Major

Recommended Posts

I've had a song idea tumbling in my head for years, waiting for the right rhythm. It came to me while I was docking in KSP: a tango! It sort of all fell together after that.

A recording of me playing it:

Lilypond source, for those interested:

I was going for whimsical, punctuated with the glorious realization HOLY COW I AM IN SPACE.

More music by me

The ability to play piano has always escaped me. Well done! I like the music indeed. It is very beautiful. Natural piano has such an advantage over digital sequencing that I do. You should post some on Soundcloud if you have not already. Great job!

It would be fantastic to have a Music tag. I tire of selecting Special. All art is special, but Music should never be forgotten in any aspects. Easier to search and find more artists. Definitely checkout Soundcloud. It's a great little platform.

I wish to hear more!

No problem - I just wrote another one. It's like... the more stressful school gets, the more music I write.

Awesome! This sounds like something somebody's bound to put in a video. MIDI?

Edit: Never mind, downloaded Lilypond.

Cool. Running Lilypond on it should output a MIDI file.

I didn't include license text in the music source, but feel free to do whatever you want with it. It'll probably take some work to put any life into the MIDI, though.

I like it.

At first I thought it's a bit slow for a tango (I dance), but the tempo fits.

I tried singing it as a bolero arrangement, but the bolero is too ... rigid.

The Tango is all about approaching [the lady], missing, demanding the partners attention again, be turned away by her etc..

A thrilling and griping dance. And it fits perfectly as 'docking' music :D

I think you're right about the tempo. I'm starting to think that three of my Soundcloud recordings (including this one) are too slow, but I didn't think so when I first uploaded them. Maybe I need to let them cool for a week before I share them. :D

EDIT: Wait, you dance and sing? This place is full of such interesting people!
