Simple, get a command pod/probe into Kerbin orbit.

Rules:

1.Use no other propulsion method other than separatrons.

2. No hax, part clipping is allowed.

No infiniglide.

Rankings:

An orbit at least(100p)-70x70km orbit reached

For every additional 10x10km you receive 50 points.

Mun,I'm coming for you!(500p)-get caught in the Muns sphere of influence

Minmus, so small!(1000p)-get caught by Minmus

Interplanetary style(3000p)-get onto an interplanetary trajectory.(no gravity assists)

Getting a high orbit with a Mun/Minmus gravity assist doesn't count.

Soft mode(x1) get any probe body to do the above

Hard mode(x1,5) get a 1-man command pod do any of the above

It's possible and has already been done, use the search function. Basically you need to make a huge rocket with couple hundreds sepratrons. The very last stage is the one that reaches orbit, it's usually that octogonal flat probe, or the square one. I've never entered orbit, but made it to suborbital, almost 130 km. My computer is too weak to allow normal work with so many parts. Framerate drops horribly so there's no fun in it.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP :)

Made it over 50k feet but only with about 400m/s of surface velocity (well short of orbit). A main challenge seems to be the early stages. It is most efficient to travel at about 100 m/s + 10m/s for every 1000 feet of elevation. The problem I have is that after some very potent lower stages that each adds 30ish m/s you get to about 100m/s and your vessel is lighter so the same stage now adds 60 m/s. This quickly pushes you to 160m/s before you are even at 1000 meters up and you lose a bunch to atmospheric drag. I'm trying to split the ignition on some of the early stages to maintain a more stable velocity. If you can get efficiently out to 14,000 m then the top stages should easily make it to orbit.

Will post pics tonight after I finally accomplish this.

this part count will very likely kill my PC :)

Each of first 5 stages has 51 part in it and burn for only 3.3 seconds. So part count drops to more or less reasonable number (~300) in first 30 seconds of ascent. I got around 7 fps from start and then fps will rise very fast. Also my rocket is pretty stable on course - you don't realy need anything to do except of hitting spacebar 12 times until you get to 10 km.

This is mine, till now the best, but I think that 1greywind could improve his design a lot only changing small things at their staging without changing anything.

I reached a 78x150km.

850 parts, 56 stages, 752 sepratrons, 49.6 tons, delta v=4997 m/s and a final orbit of 150x78km.
