War Thunder (For when you want to fly WW2 planes around and bash into your buddies)

I recently picked up a game called War Thunder. It was free on steam and I was kinda expecting an atrocity. But I thoroughly enjoy the game. It splits battles into 3 modes: Arcade mode, where you can point the mouse where you want to go, and the plane will steer there, and fight any nation against any nation, just two teams. Historical battles, which I think are more strategic mission based modes. 'Full Real Battles'(Stupid Name), in which you pretty much need a joystick unless you have vectors and 3 dimensional angles embedded in your brain. It uses the 'Realistic' control mode, and your wings rip off when you go too fast and stuff. Unfortunately my joystick isn't here right now so I haven't tried this mode yet. The reason I like it is the more realistic damage, where if somebody puts many holes in your wing, said wing will lose lift and you will tilt and veer. They seem to have all this drag-lift stuff worked out. So it is quite fun to shoot an enemy's wing off and watch them plummet uncontrollably to the ground. Includes the usual MMO thing of bazillions of planes unlockable as well. Also the graphics are PRETTY good.

I used to like it, then they changed the DM and now I can't find any fun in it. It's too easy but simultaneously frustrating and shooting things down isn't satisfying.

Already has an old thread that died, but eh, why not, taking a major break after I got my first jet and it barely even made it off the ground.

The game has the biggest potential of all time when it comes to a wide variety filled game set in world war 2, but man does it still have flaws.

By the way, it's set to have tanks and ships in too. I'm waiting on the tanks, see if they do those any better than WoT.

Yeah, it's the sort of easy fun that's great for a while then loses all entertainment. Not sure how frequently they add content so...

I used to play it a bit, but then I got bored of getting shot down and taking forver to get new stuff...
