A few things we need

Recommended Posts

A stack-able external command seat. if you're only using one, then getting it dead center is practically impossible, getting it to connect to a node would be much appreciated.

Nerf the 48-7s, the inline version of the orange radial engine. That engine does not feel balanced, and considering that the description of it specifically state (if i recall correctly) that it is the inline derivative of the red radial engine, then it should have either the same or a similar ISP, perhaps from 350 in vacuum to 320 or something. you catch my drift there.

A tiny size version of the BZ-52 Radial Attachment Point. basically like a junior docking port but with out the docking capability and less mass to compensate for that.

Radial Drogue chutes. sometime drogue chutes are necessary but there are no practical places to put them.

Probe sized reaction wheels. not only useful for probes but also vital for spacebikes

A radial Oscar-B fuel tank. considering the size of it I can accept that it doesn't attach radially (although that too would be really nice) so what I mean would be what was done in terms of the radial xenon tank, but with small amounts of fuel and oxidizer instead.

The shielded docking port should have less drag than a regular one (when closed), both to off-set the extra mass (gameplay reason) and because it seems to make sense that it would have less drag (logical reason)

Some of this (like probe SAS and reaction wheels, and radial cylindrical and spherical fuel tanks) is available in KSPX right now, which also means that it will be going stock sooner or later. The shielded docking port will be fixed when aerodynamics are fixed (probably not soon). And we will see many balance changes as we get nearer to a possible beta release.

Also, I disagree with nerfing that engine. If you can use it and abuse it, why not, many small engines are historically as good and cheaper than a single big one as well as lighter. Basically, cluster staging with 3 of them is about as good as an LV-909.

My point about the engine is that it is unbalanced, and that's a problem. I care about challenging and balanced game-play, which is why i love KSP so much. If i wanted to abuse the system to get the best craft then I'd just go modify the Mainsail to have 9999 ISP, but i don't because it feels wrong and would take a lot of the challenge out. What I'm getting at is that the 48-7S feels like a mod part that got tacked on without the proper balancing in relation to the other engines, which in a sense it is.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd been hoping for an inline 24-77 for quite a while and would just like it to fit in the way it should

Well, when drag gets implemented, it will be far more profitable to cluster mount them than it will be to use the radial engines. Also, based on it's size, it feels like it should be heavier. personally though, I think a stack mount engine will always be better than a radial equivalent. The reason i think people think it's too efficient and OP is that in the past, you had to use 2 radials to balance thrust, thus half the efficiency.
