Fastest Unicycle: Hell on Wheel

1096bimu, the runway at KSC is not at sea level, and anyway, that runway is higher than KSC. What is so difficult about running that thing at KSC? I really wish people like you would stop trying to exploit these challenges. It ruins the fun for the rest of us.

EDIT: I'm all for a modded leaderboard, but 1096bimu, if you want to be on the stock leaderboard, do the challenge with STOCK.

For continued and repeated abuse of challenge rules set by posters, 1096bimu has been disqualified from this challenge, please also note a new addition to the Challenge Rules for future events.

And now for my entry, all stock, on the runway and getting me a place on the non-sepratron board with a somewhat hard to see 338m/s :)

Thanks sal!

I'll add you to the leaderboard -- nice video.

Non-Separatron Entry: 401m/s

@sal_vager: I like the phraseology of the new challenge submission rule:cool:. Is there a "Default Ruleset for New Challenge Makers" you can recommend? I posted a challenge a while back and this would have certainly helped me.

Cheers!

Even better: 434 m/s

By moving the inline reaction wheel to the staged part, the TWR on the final stage increases considerably. The peak speed is reached fast enough that there is not enough time to crash.

I also tried using MechJeb to more accurately time the staging, but it won't do auto-staging if you haven't left the ground.

Thing tips over most of the time, haven't figured out how to solve that issue yet.

Tried a couple other designs as well, so far this is the best that has stayed on the ground.

Your problem are your wheels You have the wheels in the back causing the front to go downwards...
