Mun return without Kethane Mod ?

Is it possible to return Kerbal Kosmonaut from the Mun without the Kethane mod ??

Yes, you just need to bring enough fuel out there.

Have a look at the Apollo style missions on the mission report / spacecraft exchange / youtube.

Just bring some more fuel, or better yet, do a Apollo style mission and practice your rendevous and docking skills at the same time

You can get to any planet and back without the Kethane mod. It just takes practise. Keep on trying and you'll get there!

I don't use the Kethane mod and have been most places, so yes it's possible. Depending on your lander, you don't actually need that much fuel to get off the surface of the Mun and back to Kerbin. Just yesterday I was messing about with a low mass design to get to the Mun and back, and that was less than 22t on the pad. The 2-stage lander part of that design was around 5t, which got me from low Kerbin orbit to the Mun and back.

Of course I would have the engines blow out 1/2 way just because I called the rocket Apollo.

Close enough that I can call it a win as I got both craft circling Mun in synch...

You can return kerboins without any mods from ANY body of Kerbol with the exception of Jool and Kerbol itself.

EVERYTHING is possible without mods.

Try making a stock catapult that can throw a kerbal through Dres' canyon, or a propeller powered blimp in the stock game.
