First manned orbit!

I just completed my first manned orbit all manually controlled! I've always used MecJeb or recently KOS but I decided to hook my PS3 controller up and its much easier to steer. I had no idea what I was missing!

I remember the feeling when I first reach orbit.

If you want a little anecdote:the rocket I use to go to the mun(due to craft breaking update,it doesn't work anymore) and the one that first reach orbit are barely the same.

Why?

Because of my super efficient flight ascent(irony)!

There was consisting of going straight up,with all engines firing at nearly full throttle(I over-estimated the drag) and then,when you reached the edge of the atmosphere,firing horizontaly at full throttle to reach orbit.

Thanks guys. I'll still use KOS for the unmanned probes but I'm going to fly the manned missions by hand from now on rather than use MechJeb.

I remember getting a huge thrill the first time that I got a periapsis.

This is one of the big reasons I don't like mechjeb, these little achievements seem inconsequential when it's automated.
