Slow load times, even on SSD?

Hello,

I recently bought a new SSD to improve game and OS loading times. However it did not improve KSP's loading time very much, but it improved all of my other games a lot. Why would this happen?

Sadly, the game load time is limited more by the CPU I believe.

I have a couple of SSDs in a stripe set! Yet - still takes a while to load. It will probably be improved eventually.... by loading parts-on-demand perhaps.

Graphics card and Processor are much more influential in this game than the fact that you're running it off an SSD. I always have my processor gadget open on my other screen, and it shows both cores maxed out at 100% on my [fairly old] CPU when the game enters a loading screen.

Ah, how I hope my next paycheck is good enough for me to upgrade my processor...

Yup, it's CPU limited, not HD limited. I did a test of loading time on a physical drive once (a few versions ago) and got something like 47 seconds, on my SSD which is several times as fast got 45.

Which i'd imagine about as big a difference as I'd get between different different loads on the same drive.
