Garm
Allow mods to add their parts to the research tree.Ideal would be to have self generating tree, that only requires modders to specify prerequisite researches. and based on that develop a new graph. This will allow mods to introduce their parts at much steadier pace, not to overwhelm new players, as well as make cross mod research much more compatible. Bob's Guardian Angel
I agree to this.
check
From what I remember, the developers did add some 'mod only' nodes to the tree.. I'm assuming this means that modders can specify where in the tech tree they want their mods to appear.
regex
There are empty nodes specifically for new tech and/or mod tech. Furthermore, modders can add their parts to existing nodes as desired. The only thing missing is the ability to edit/add/remove nodes from the tree and that, apparently, will eventually get iterated upon.
Captain Sierra
THe node a part is assigned to is labeled in the config and there are several ghost nodes specifically made for popular mods that don't fit within the same nodes as stock (NP, KW, Kethane, KAS, etc.). These were put there specifically for the modders. Probably with .23 or as .22.1, we will see the ability to add nodes, but that may end up causing trouble down the road.
