Shiva-84

Recommended Posts

Using the Tim_Barrett school of engineering, I created something monstrous, something effective at any task you care to set it. This ship can bomb planets in other galaxies if need be, yet also fly halfway around the world and hit over 6000m/s below 20.000 meters.

Introducing the Shiva-84. Capable of delivering any payload you care to mention at hypersonic speeds to the enemy.

Also, an interesting thing about the wasp missiles: Fire one at 200m/s and this ship will overtake it going vertically in about 5 seconds. Fire one at a higher speed than 200m/s and it explodes, blowing the wings and half the engines off, with a bit of luck you can still land it vertically though.

Also: You called for backup?

In light of competition from 42 industries, Phil Aerospace has created several extra versions of the Shiva-84 high speed interceptor.

Introducing:

The Shiva-84B extended range interceptor

Now capable of interstellar bombing missions, a vertical flight path will take this craft up to 18000m/s when armed with a single wasp missile. Can carry two medium range ballistic missiles halfway around the globe at 20.000m, at a speed of 1000m/s.

The Shiva-94A Bearcat special.

407436_10151080341585203_726140202_21917020_1260293335_n.jpg

This particular ship has at its disposal 20 bearcat engines and six LV-T300\'s, and due to it overloading all known simulations is currently grounded. 374330_10151080349450203_726140202_21917038_1797393671_n.jpg

The Shiva-94B Long Range bomber.

405851_10151080341375203_726140202_21917016_1812736105_n.jpg

is the same as the Bearcat special, except for the engine clusters, it uses only 10 LV-T300\'s, yet is more than capable in its own right, thanks to extended fuel tanks seen here on the 94A.

409714_10151080341170203_726140202_21917013_1326505712_n.jpg

This range of fighter-bombers is more than capable of delivering any load anywhere at any speed than anything 42 industries can possibly offer you!

Order now at 1002 Kerbal drive, Kerbal Space Centre.

So it flips out without constant thrust? Kerbal indeed.

Have you seen the Falcon?

No, no flipping, just doesn\'t like to fly level anymore :P The nose can be kept up, but the whole plane is too heavy for the lift the wings provide.

Already seen the falcon, already designing a new plane.

Due to apparent demand for an aircraft that can be landed, Phil Industries has created this, the Shiva-104A.

While it retains the huge payload capacity of its predecessors, it gains more fuel capacity and thus longer atmospheric flights coupled with the ability to glide for hundreds of miles.

In spite of the extra weight, this craft loses little of its top end speed compared to the 94B, yet gains what it does lose in manoevrability. This truly must be the ship of the future!

Also, PM me, Ping.

EDIT: Landing capability is created by the addition of one nose wheel to the front of the plane and two skid plates to the bottom most tanks. lower wings are as always expendable.

Good news! The Shiva-104A has just flown around the world after what was intended to be a mere test of its gliding capabilities.

It has proven itself to be capable of sustained orbital speeds at a mere 30.000 meters, and flew around the world in one hour and ten minutes before crash landing due to a lack of landing gear, yet remaining reasonably in tact.

This is an astounding feat, as the ship was not designed for sustained flight, but bursts of speed. As evidenced by the multitude of engines. This just goes to show that more engines means more fun!

After a test of the climb rate at low throttle settings, Jeb decided to see how far he could take the ship, after levelling out at around 30.000m, he noticed the speed climbing ever higher

390329_10151080538845203_726140202_21917974_1344639707_n.jpg

Keeping the plane below 40.000m was a tough job, requiring constant correction at these high speeds.

395319_10151080538995203_726140202_21917976_649990962_n.jpg

Orbital velocities were reached during this flight as evidenced by the following, though speeds up to 2452m/s were recorded.

383855_10151080539150203_726140202_21917978_1846959513_n.jpg

After running out of fuel at the point indicated by the centre of the sattelite photo provided, Jeb heroically glided the plane back to the KSC.

389390_10151080539500203_726140202_21917981_192305211_n.jpg

The sun overtook the intrepid heroes in their magnificent flying machine as they neared the space centre.

Final approach

and a somewhat damaged Shiva-104A on the ground

403857_10151080540555203_726140202_21917994_462175819_n.jpg

Truly there can be no better aircraft on Kerbin!

Have you seen the Falcon?

My VA Goose usually flips out when you engage the thrusters.

Though mostly only when you\'re trying to bank. Its actually a two stage S/VTOL dropship, though so far I haven\'t had much success with the S/VTOL stage, because the cannards don\'t affect its flight path enough, and I need to use as little RCS gas as possible for use when landing.

In response To the Falcon AR, Phil Industries has done what it always does and just added a bunch of stuff to an already existing design.

387229_10151096463940203_726140202_22009676_1314940298_n.jpg

Still extremely capable of doing its high speed interceptor job!

386556_10151096464195203_726140202_22009680_1796072397_n.jpg

With I don\'t know how many cannon and seemingly endless ammo, this ship is damned great.

We\'d add bombs, but we\'re not sure the world would survive it.

I don\'t see any rounds, looks liek you computer couldn\'t handle it! I can put dozens upon dozens of railguns on my Falcon if I wished to, but I decided to keep it clean and useful.

Nice try xD

One round each and I shot them all before I took the screenshot!:D

I could add some more if you wish to prove that it\'s flyable :P

I can count maybe fifty railguns, or fifty rounds.

FalconAR contains 112 rounds 8) outgunned

I recommend using less guns but at full capacity, then fire two at a time.

Over fifty chances to shoot the enemy! Wala! ;)
