A while back in my current save, I fired off a Skeet-class probe (1.25 meter remote guidance unit, 3 OX-STAT panels, and 3 Communitron 16 low-gain antennae) atop a multi-stage rocket on a purely ballistic path. No guidance, no SAS. Just spin stabilization.

Well, I just checked back in with it at the 200 days of flight mark...

I was quite surprised by the altitude. So, I went about my business for a bit, and then came back this morning to grab a screencap of the orbit...

Yes, that is a gravity assist at Jool... in almost 29 years.

Final apoapsis: INSANE. Can't wait to see what speed I drop to at apoapsis, and I will enjoy the flyby of Jool (should I ever get to that point...).
