KSC has recently begun contracts with Sum Dum Heavy Industries and Kerb Kastria Inc. With these beautiful new parts being shipped in by the trainload, KSC immediately devised a mission which would make the most use of its new toys.

Introducing, PlanetLab:

PlanetLab consists of three sections.

The Constellation MPCV:

The habitat and science module:

And the Propulsion Block:

The heavy propulsion block and hab module are sent to orbit using the Goddard Heavy launch vehicle:

Afterwards the Constellation MPCV is send up on a smaller launch vehicle:

The Duna ejection window has opened. The Crew works quick to prep the ship.

The engines fire up to a quarter throttle to minimize energy usage.

Even at a quarter throttle, the engines glow bright and provide strong thrust.

Pretty soon we have a Duna encounter!

Thanks to the electrical engines, we can throttle back to almost nothing and adjust our closest approach nicely.

We deploy the deep space comms dish.

Scientists from KSC are reporting a system-wide solar flare, K-022 class. The crew of PlanetLab realizes they only have one option as they approach Duna.

Attempt landing.

Jebediah wakes up in a cold sweat. He realizes it was just a dream. His mind wanders away from his nightmare and he begins to wonder if his training application has been accepted by KSC.
