Probably the best sr-71 blackbird made so far

Recommended Posts

"Edge of space" being 25 km high, not 65....

Also, keep in mind that:

A: a standard F-18 can go that high, if only by suborbital hops.

B: Hypersonic planes can fly at double that height.

C: Kerbin's scale height is 5 km. Earth's is 8 km. The real blackbird would be limited to around 15.6 km in KSP.

Well.. I installed more fuel tanks, so i bet i can make it pretty far distance, which also made it super heavy (pwing weighs alot lol), and i've already reached 15km at 300m/s (which is only 1/3 of the sr-71 real speed but still, i'm limited to 2 engines which makes reaching 1000m/s impossible unless i mod the part.cfg of the engines to give them more thrust), so i still keep true to the op title. Might actually modify the pwing to weigh less...

id love to try it i bet i could push it to 1000m/s without configs

Good luck with that, like i said it's impossible to make it go faster without better engines or config modding to make it lighter, it simply is too heavy for the engines to push it beyond a certain speed.

have u tryed to clipping 2 engines in once? u add more weight at the rear but u also gain more power, and if the fuel consuption start from the front of the jet can balance ur craft

just tried it now, does add more power... but the plane keeps yawing either left or right after i get it into the air, it's like when i yaw it once to the left or right it will keep turning, really weird.

what is ur take off speed? sometimes the problem of the yaw undercontrolled after the take off is caused by the weight, if u are sure all the parts are simmetric then the problem can be the lift/mass ratio, probably u dont have so much lift power and thrust power to compensate the heavy weight of the craft.
